Saturday October 15th, at Little Silver Moto Parc, the 2016 season was brought to a close. This was another successful year for the Premier Motocross Team in the South West.
This season saw the introduction of two brand new Championship Classes to the Premier MX Series, EVO and TWOSTROKE. Despite limited response, we have completed the two Championships. After listening to the riders and comments we believe there is still potential for competitive Twostroke racing in the South West. So in 2017 we are aiming to run Championship classes for both MX1 and MX2 Twostroke riders. This will, however depend on the number of registrations we receive.
We introduced a Fastest Forty type race to finish off the day’s racing and the 2016 season. We are very grateful to Frampton Consultants Ltd for their support of this race, which we hope to carry on into the 2017 series. This is new to Premier MX and was Experts plus the fastest Juniors together on the start line for a one off season finale.
Thank you to all Competitors who have ridden with us this year and Congratulations to all our Champions. Expert: Jordan Carter; Junior: Harry Linton; Overs and over 35: Wayne Shimell; Over 40: Stuart Rawlings; Over 50: David Ford; Twostroke: Leighton Holmes and Evo: Adam Plant
We extend a sincere Thank-you to all our Sponsors and advertisers, whose support is greatly appreciated by the whole Premier MX team as well as the Competitors themselves.
A special thanks to Barry Moore at Phoenix Tools, Barry has supported the Championship for a number of years now. Thank you Barry and Phoenix Tools your support has been appreciated.
A big thank you to Gabriel Insulations Services, a new sponsor to our Expert Championship this year; M D Racing Products who sponsor our Overs Championship and have done so for many years; Barry Maunder of Maunders Racing a new sponsor to our Junior Championship and also the sponsor of our Team Championship; Richard Churchill of RC Motorhomes the sponsor of our new Twostroke Championship and also Frampton Consultants Ltd who have supported the Evo Championship. TyreMarks of Tavistock have remained heavily involved and also given us tremendous support with a set of new clothing for all the organising team. Please support them whenever you can.
Our thanks also to all our Marshals and to M.E.T Services, our Medical team, and everyone else who has helped us in anyway throughout 2016, without you the series would not happen.
Plans are well in hand and looking great for the 2017 season, with some new changes to make for more exciting races. Dates and tracks are provisionally booked. (Confirmation cannot be made until the World and National Championships have been decided) Registration forms are available today and are downloadable from this site. As per previous years current members have the first chance to register for the 2017 series. But please be aware that to guarantee space you need to get your registration form and cheque or payment details, card or bacs, sent in by January 1st 2017.
As I’m sure you can imagine putting on a series like this isn’t easy. We have a dedicated and skilled team working hard for you, but we really do need some extra help and there are many ways you can help. If you are interested in joining the Premier MX team or can offer help in anyway please ring the Chairman or Secretary, whose details are in contacts.
Many thanks
Premier MX Team.
